Education System in German-Speaking Switzerland Part 1/2
Description
Education plays a crucial role in the development of society, as it fosters basic knowledge, value, etc., of the population. Yet the education system in Switzerland puzzles many parents, even Swiss, especially that the system is still evolving and varies from one community to another. Our guest Felix, who is the principal of a primary school in Dietlikon ZH, gives a brief introduction to it. In this episode, he explains the motivation of establishing Curriculum 21 (German: Lehrplan 21) in German-speaking Switzerland, the content of the curriculum, and how it differs from the conventional system. He also illustrates the composition of mandatory education in Switzerland and how the classroom looks like.
