Empowering Residents: The Thrivability Model of Rainbird Village Municipality
Update: 2024-08-02
Description
Rainbird Development Company, BLLC has partnered with Rainbird Village Municipality to create a resident-owned producer cooperative in Utah County based on the concept of Thrivability. Inspired by the Mondragon Cooperative, the community will focus on employee ownership, limited hierarchy, and liquid democracy. Residents will work as employee-owners in various areas like municipal operations, food production, education, healthcare, and more. The community will provide housing, fresh food options, education services, healthcare, and banking through a credit union, aiming to empower residents to control their prosperity and thrive in a convivial community. Rainbird Development is currently seeking funding to make this innovative model a reality in Utah County.
