Chengdu, the city where I live,

是一个阴天比较多的城市，

is a city with quite a lot of cloudy days,

一年有两百多天都是阴天。

yī nián | yǒu | liǎng bǎi | duō | tiān | dōu | shì | yīn tiān

with more than 200 cloudy days a year.

在冬天，只要一出太阳，

zài | dōng tiān | zhǐ yào | yī | chū | tài yáng

In winter, as soon as the sun comes out,

人们都要出去晒太阳，

rén men | dōu | yào | chū qù | shài | tài yáng

people all go out to sunbathe,

在公园、草坪、商业街，

zài | gōng yuán | cǎo píng | shāng yè | jiē

in parks, on lawns, and at commercial streets,

大家都来享受难得的阳光。

dà jiā | dōu | lái | xiǎng shòu | nán dé | de | yáng guāng

everyone comes to enjoy the rare sunshine.

上周日就是一个晴天，

shàng | zhōu rì | jiù | shì | yī gè | qíng tiān

It was a sunny day last Sunday ,

我们去到一个人工湖公园，

wǒ men | qù | dào | yī gè | rén gōng | hú | gōng yuán

we went to a park with a man-made lake,

草坪上有好多好多人，

cǎo píng | shàng | yǒu | hǎo duō | hǎo duō | rén

and there were so many people on the lawn.

大家带着各自的野餐装备，

dà jiā | dài zhe | gè zì | de | yě cān | zhuāng bèi

Everyone brought their own picnic gear,

大人小孩一起沐浴在阳光里，

dà rén | xiǎo hái | yī qǐ | mù yù | zài | yáng guāng | lǐ

adults and children alike basked in the sunshine,

还有一些小狗。

hái | yǒu | yī xiē | xiǎo gǒu

along with some puppies.

有些人在沿湖骑车，

yǒu | xiē | rén | zài | yán | hú | qí | chē

Some people were cycling along the lake,

有些人在躺着晒太阳，

yǒu | xiē | rén | zài | tǎng zhe | shài | tài yáng

some were lying down sunbathing,

有些人在一起打牌，

yǒu | xiē | rén | zài | yī qǐ | dǎ | pái

some were playing cards together,

有些人在玩遥控飞机，

yǒu | xiē | rén | zài | wán | yáo kòng | fēi jī

some were playing with remote-controlled airplanes,

有些人在谈恋爱……

and some were in love...

这样的画面太美好了，

zhè | yàng | de | huà miàn | tài | měi hǎo | le

This scene was so beautiful,

没有工作，没有焦虑，

méi yǒu | gōng zuò | méi yǒu | jiāo lǜ

no work, no anxiety,

没有不喜欢的人际关系，

méi yǒu | bù | xǐ huān | de | rén jì | guān xì

no unpleasant interpersonal relationships,

只有家人朋友、风景和阳光。

zhǐ | yǒu | jiā rén | péng you | fēng jǐng | hé | yáng guāng

only family, friends, scenery, and sunshine.

太阳照在身上暖暖的，

tài yáng | zhào | zài | shēn shàng | nuǎn nuǎn | de

The sun shines warmly on our bodies,

但是一没有了太阳，马上就感到很冷。

dàn shì | yī | méi yǒu | le | tài yáng | mǎ shàng | jiù | gǎn dào | hěn | lěng

but as soon as the sun disappears, you feel cold right away.

最近这里的气温是十几度，

zuì jìn | zhè lǐ | de | qì wēn | shì | shí jǐ | dù

Recently, the temperature here has been around ten degrees Celsius,

到了一月就下降到几度了吧，

dào | le | yī yuè | jiù | xià jiàng | dào | jǐ | dù | le | ba

and it will probably drop to a few degrees in January.

今年好像算是一个暖冬。

jīn nián | hǎo xiàng | suàn | shì | yī gè | nuǎn | dōng

This year seems to be a mild winter.
