The Cult of the Great Eleven, aka: the Blackburn Cult, aka: The Divine order of the Royal Arms of the Great 11 was like the 1920s version of a cosmic Ponzi scheme with a sprinkle of apocalyptic obsession. 

It was founded by May Otis Blackburn and her daughter Ruth Wieland in Southern California, where they convinced people that angels had spilled all the universe's secrets to them.

.....because, why not? 

Promises of eternal life and mystical revelations were all the rage, and followers forked over loads of cash in hopes of getting the VIP pass to immortality and too many husband's.
