On this episode I have Joseph 'Sagonige Yanasi' Pekara. Joseph  is one of the most influential and accomplished photographers in the music and indigenous fashion scene. He has 4X Grammy, 3X Sony and a Smithsonian award in photography. Throughout his career Joseph has worked with artists such as Nappy Roots, Erica Banks, Red Berry Woman, Rhianna, Wale, Nicki Minaj, WuTang Clan, Hieroglyphics, DJ Snake and 50 Cent. Joseph’s mission is to capture moments through his lens that tell stories and freeze time for music artists, culture and life itself.Joseph and I discuss our Indigenous culture and how important it is to empower our communities through photography and supporting those that came before us and allowed us to share what we do with the world. Look out for a future collaboration between Joseph and myself based around the beauty of our culture.
