The justification for social distancing, mask wearing, and shutting down our global economy was largely based on the fear that asymptomatic people will easily spread Covid. Early studies fanned these fears and created a whole world of people willing to “do their part” by staying home to stay safe, to shun social contact, and to shame those who don’t comply. Even if we have little to go on, I don't know why in the absence of data you would advise people to go without masks and not worry about social distancing in public indoors or crowded places. Why not err on the side of caution?
Asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic people are contributing to spread according to more recent findings. And masks do help limit the spread of you look at Jena Germany implementation in April before other places in the country for instance. Can you address this?
