During her years as a teacher, Ames Hart had 3 students who died by suicide. She is also a survivor of suicide. Because of her experience from suicide, she decided to participate in the suicide prevention community by being an active member in it. She participates with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and started her own organization call Enter Hope LLC.
