The majority of people have been taught about retirement the wrong way. They think of retirement in terms of age.

I’d like to retire by 55 or perhaps 60

I only want to work for another 15 years

Or, I don’t think I could work past 65… 

Thoughts like this don’t really help us to identify and target our retirement goals.

It's all focusing on age rather than the important aspect of money. If you want to retire it's not at a certain age it's once you reach a certain level of financial independence.
