DJ Optiv from Cause4Concern was a hugely influential part of New Zealand's early productions scene, travelling to Aotearoa and working with Bulletproof & Concord Dawn on tracks which helped cement their names in UK Drum & Bass.

In 2020, Optiv tragically passed away leaving behind his two sons. News of his sudden death swept throughout the global scene. His long time friend and co-producer Mark C4C aka CZA reached out to Edd's friends to create music for a tribute album.
