Episode 1: My Story — Darragh Byrne
Description
Welcome to The Successful Irishman Podcast with Darragh Byrne
This is episode 1.
It’s one of adventure, transformation, and ambition. A story that sets the stage for this podcast and my message of embracing the change in life based on Health, Personal Development, Business and how I define success based on my own terms.
From my childhood growing up to a single parent in inner city, Dublin. My wanderlust curiosity brought me into all parts of Dublin leading to me growing up fast. Being looked down upon by society and having a chip on my shoulder to those from the "outside world".
The alcohol and drug fueled lifestyle. Rolling (literally) around every dance floor in Dublin. Then onto different continents to carry on in this drug fuelled haze. Wearing the mask of dream living but it was really just chewing up most of my days.
The journey from Ireland to Australia and Boy to a Man. Or what I thought was a Man. Living life in the fast lane eventually led me to facing off with this whole game. The moment of sorrow and dark night of the soul.
Following hitting rock bottom mentally and emotionally exactly 14 years ago, almost to the day. My spiritual awakening which has led me to where I am today. The long and winding road to get here. And all the times I burned myself along the way.
Burning Man in the dust and meeting my Queen, giving up my whole life in Melbourne and trusting my heart. The story of anger and mistrust and childhood trauma's bubbling up. Eventually my curiosity and wan't to heal and save our relationship led to my purpose landing on my lap. Wondering what I do with it now?
This premier episode tells the tale of one man’s journey from the emotional bottom to the energetic top and shines a light on all of the tools and principles that have paved the way so that you, the listener, might be spared some wasted time, overcoming fears and allowing the world hear what you have to say.
Thank you for joining me on this sometimes wild, sometimes funny, summary of my life. Not proud of everything I have done in my life. But grateful for it all. As I would not be where I am today without every moment & experience. May it provide inspiration to anyone who is somewhere along the road of my journey.
Much love to you all
Darragh
