This episode features Dr. Deb Duthie, a Wakka Wakka Warumungu woman. Dr Deb is the director of Indigenous Health for the Faculty of Health at QUT. Dr. Deb speaks about how Indigenous perspectives are the foundation of the work she does. Dr. Deb recognises the importance of Indigenous perspectives when advocating with Aboriginal and Torrestrait islander people towards empowerment and emancipation. She explains how Indigenous perspectives challenge dominant structures to decolonise social work and human services through activism and advocacy, and centering the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples.
