Episode 1 - The early madcap years in the Ryder household
Description
The late Paul Ryder - founding member and bass player of Manchester legends Happy Mondays - talks candidly to his ex-wife, journalist Angela Smith, about growing up and discovering a love of music after seeing David Bowie perform on Top of the Pops when he was eight years old. We meet some surprise guests including Paul and Shaun's mum Linda - and Mondays drummer Gaz Whelan who has a spooky encounter whilst talking about Paul, who he describes as being like a brother to him. This podcast series was recorded in the months leading up to Paul's tragic death and was finished just 12 days before he passed away. The episodes - each one packed with special guests - will be released every Saturday from July 15th 2023 - the anniversary of his death.
