It's where you "feelings center" or amygdala part of the brain takes over your response to a stressful situation that would normally respond rationally to and turns you into becoming more upset, angry, aggressive. Normally, our amygdala helps us get out of danger with our flight or fight response. That is a normal human basic instinct. In burnout, we have chronic stress and the amygdala hijack can change how we respond to normal everyday situations! I also give ways you can help prevent amygdala hijack. I can help coach female professionals on overcoming burnout to live an empowered life!
