David Downing is a best-selling author of both fiction and nonfiction. Harlan came to know his work through his Station series of novels. Espionage thrillers, these novels follow the fictional exploits of John Russell, a British Journalist, and Effi Koenen, a noted German Actress. Each of the books is named after train stations in or near Berlin. They take you on a journey as the European war begins in the late 30s through the Nazi defeat, Post War occupation, and the beginning of the Cold War.
