The more I listen to this, the more I feel like the radio show part of the podcast is meant to be like a Greek chorus, explaining what's happening emotionally and logically for Jack, but wrapped in its own meta-narrative. I'm sure other found media style podcasts I've listened to have done similar, but so far the radio show has nearly zero story development aside from its analysis of Jack's story, whereas other shows have their own complete story for the meta-narrative. Interesting regardless!
