This is part two of our two-part series on Recycling and Waste Diversion. We spoke with Dr. Myra Hird, author of Canada's Waste Flows and professor at the School of Environmental Studies at Queen's University about Canada's waste crisis, our dysfunctional recycling systems, and how inequity impacts being a good environmental citizen. We also spoke to Zach Fang, co-owner of Miss Bao: a zero-waste, pan-Asian restaurant in Kingston Ontario,  Zach discusses his cutting-edge compost system, working with suppliers, and other strategies to reduce waste in the restaurant industry.
