Description

The by-elections held in Zimbabwe on Saturday 26 March 2022 gave public voice to the fierce contest between the ruling Zanu PF and newly-launched Citizens Coalition for Change parties. This contest is expected to also dominate the upcoming general election in early 2023, and will also test the capacity of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission to conduct elections that are credible, constitutional, transparent and accountable, in a country marred by decades of dictatorship, election rigging and voter intimidation.   Chris Maroleng chats with GGA subject specialists to dissect the issue, in this episode of the GGA Conversation.
