This week’s episode is all about content creation strategy. I’m joined by Ashley J. Saunders, founder of AJS Digital Group, a media company with over a decade of experience in digital marketing. AJ has also launched an eBook publishing company, a global e-commerce shop, and started the current brands in the AJS Digital Group’s portfolio.
We speak about the basic foundations for a good content creation strategy and some tips that people can start implementing right away. One simple idea is to think about the common questions that your customers ask you and then create content based on these questions. This could easily give you up to a year's worth of content. Think also about your business processes and the steps you take in delivering your product or service. Each step could be a piece of content too.
When creating content, it is important that you use a variety of media and not rely heavily on text. Your content shouldn't look like an essay for school, otherwise, readers will lose interest. A good way to mix this up is by using images and short videos.
It's important to be active, especially for those that haven't done tasks such as podcasting or blogging before. Those who are nervous about these activities should realize they will improve with time and practice. The key is consistency.
