Former President Trump keeps showing up in the hottest legal topics of the week, and this week is no exception. This week, a New York federal jury has considered the case of E. Jean Carroll against Trump for sexual assault and defamation related to an alleged encounter in the 1990s and subsequent alleged defamatory statements against her in recent years.

In this case, Donald Trump did not appear in person for the trial, and he did not testify in person. Other women were allowed to testify about alleged sexual assaults by Mr. Trump, and the judge refused a proposed jury instruction requested by the defense team.
