The recent invitation of Governor Nasir El-Rufai by the Nigerian Bar Association to speak at its conference has proven to be a controversial one, so controversial that the invitation was withdrawn. Predictably, this has got a lot of people talking. But why was the invitation controversial? What does this mean going forward? I will also be looking at how govts at federal and state level introduce policies without properly engaging with the sectors those policies are supposed to 'help'.
