Thomas holds Doctor of Pharmacy and is a licensed pharmacist (PharmD, RPh). He is passionate in driving pharmacy practice toward its expanding scope. He serves as Director of a pharmacy tech startup, PharmAssess Diagnostics Corp, and Thomas’ vision is to evolve & empower the pharmacy profession. PharmAssess promotes transformative practice change by equipping pharmacies with powerful clinical software solutions that enable pharmacists to practice to their fullest clinical potential. In addition to managing PharmAssess, Thomas works as a clinical pharmacist and uses the PharmAssess platform to conduct professional services with his patients (remote medication reviews).

Thomas was the former vice-president of UofT's Pharmaceutical Technology & Entrepreneurship Club, and is a current member of various business accelerator networks. PharmAssess was nominated and later won the 2022 Global Health & Pharma biotechnology award in digital health, for the best pharmacy minor ailment software.

Thomas’ innovative and entrepreneurial spirit first emerged during his employment at UHN's Krembil Research Institute, where he worked as a drug design research appointee. He modelled blood-brain-barrier penetration of small molecule drugs using machine- learning algorithms, and engineered a blood-brain-barrier calculator (app available for desktop computers).

Aska Patel, is a pharmacist, entrepreneur, and podcast host with a mission to seek answers to her questions about the future of pharmacy, healthcare, healthtech, and health systems. She founded Diverse Conversations Podcast in 2021 and has since covered topics ranging from advocacy, digital health, health systems, and healthcare provider perspectives. She is also the founder and CEO of Acuvise Consultancy Inc., where she provides product strategy and market research support to health technology companies.
