We always say "Actions Speak Louder Than Words"...does intent ever really matter? For most people it doesn't, the reason behind why someone did something never usually matters, however SOMETIMES I think that can be just as important to know. Even if you don't agree, I feel like it's fair to know and be able to look at the situation with a well-rounded perspective.
