Prior to her leadership in education, Whare served as a banking and finance manager, refining her business and leadership management skills.

She has led and contributed to local and national learning programs, acting as a Programme Manager for esteemed organizations like Te Ara Ahunga Ora (The Retirement Commission), the Ministry of Education, Te Mātāwai, and various Iwi providers.
