Episode #26: Heal, Transform, and Parent: Embodied Parenting with Jannae Rice
Description
Parenting can both beautiful and complicated, rewarding and depleting. It's quite the emotional rollercoaster, and being in constant reaction to our kids can put our nervous system through the ringer.
In this episode, we're talking with Integrative Mental Health Specialist and Founder of Embodied Parenting Jannae Rice all about using our triggered moments as growth opportunities to parent from a place of deep connection.
Jannae offers this explanation for when we are triggered by our child's behavior: "Because of past triggers and traumas, it's hard to differentiate is this the past or the present? Our system gets glinchy, and then we are reactive versus responsive and there's a BIG difference."
She also offers this advice for moving into embodiment (being in our body and present): "When we are HERE, we have access to so much more. We can access to choice in our sovereignty to participate in our life unfolding in the way that we want."
