Dr. Mohammed Abu-Nimer is a professor at the International Peace and Conflict Resolution program at American University, and former Director of the Peacebuilding and Development Institute. He has conducted interreligious conflict resolution training and interfaith dialogue workshops in conflict areas around the world, including Palestine, Israel, Egypt, Northern Ireland, the Philippines (Mindanao), Sri Lanka, and others. In addition to his articles and publications, Dr. Abu-Nimer is the co-founder and co-editor of the Journal of Peacebuilding and Development. His professional services include being on the Advisory Board of Nonviolence International and being a co-chair of the PARD (Partnership for Religion and Development). One of his most recent publications is a co-edited book with Michelle Garred on Making Peace With Faith. He also co-directed a research project on forgiveness with Dr. Ilham Nasser (who has been on our podcast for the past three seasons) on perceptions of forgiveness among teachers in the Arab world.
