Episode 3: Introduction to Nuclear Disarmament – with Nathalie Balabhadra
Description
In this episode of the United Nations House Scotland Podcast, hosts Hannah and Jess speak with Nathalie Balabhadra – an economics and politics student at the University of Edinburgh and an intern at the Centre for Feminist Foreign Policy – to provide an introduction to the broad and critical campaign that is nuclear disarmament.
On the 22nd of January 2021, the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) came into force. It is the first international agreement prohibiting States Parties from the use of nuclear weapons. It crucially illustrates a framework for the elimination of these weapons and provides assistance to the victims of their use and testing.
