Description

The 1st episode of The Into the Bunker is a dream that came true! I had the opportunity to talk with one of my favorite WW2 writers: Samuel De Korte.
He is majored in Cultural History of Modern Europe at the University of
Utrecht in the Netherlands where he went through deep research about the
African American soldiers in the second world war. He already published 3
books, the first one – Tragedy and Betrayal in the Dutch Resistance – that relates
to the story of his own family and their participation in the war, the second –
The 614th Tank Destroyer Battalion, fighting on both fronts – and
the last one – Tuskegee Airman, dogfighting with the Luftwaffe and Jim Crow.
The last 2 I had the chance to read, and I’m really amazed with the new
perspective it gave me about the war in general.
So, buckle up and enjoy the ride as me and Samuel debate the history of black american soldiers in WW2!
