After the failure of the Amazing Spider-Man films, and the firing of Andrew Garfield, Sony was in shambles. However, things started looking up for them once they signed a deal with Marvel to put the character in the MCU, rebooting him once again. After making a thunderous and widely acclaimed debut in 2016’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, Tom Holland’s iteration of the character has his first solo film released a year after. While the film had widespread critical and audience praise, some fans questioned whether or not it really understood the character.
