Description

Welcome back to part two of our portrait of literary outlaw William Burroughs.

Last week we saw Burroughs go from a shy, introverted child, to a Harvard educated aspiring writer with a wife and child, who was also a petty criminal, drug fiend, heroin addict and proud homosexual with a long arrest record, who, with his friends Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg was forming a new bohemian culture and literary movement that would become defined as The Beat Generation.

When we last left off Burroughs had fled the United States after getting busted for heroin in New Orleans and had just returned to his family in Mexico City after a fruitless trip in search of ayahuasca in the jungles of South America.

Buckle up and enjoy the ride, as we bring you the second and final installment on our series of cultural icon, Godfather of Punk and Pope of Dope, William Burroughs, patron Saint of the Underground.
