She's the Director of Programming for Austin Asian American Film Festival, she writes for the Austin Chronicle, she's a film junkie and music lover, meet Jenny Nulf! In this episode, Chris talks to Jenny all about her love of film. Growing up as a fan of Tim Burton, Jenny discusses her favorites movies from him and what in particular made those movies stood out. She gets into the first time she saw Nightmare Before Christmas, with a fun story of when she found out who the director was. From there, the two talk about her first trip to Japan. She details her entire experience including an interesting curfew she had. Before audiences fell in love with the amazing film Parasite, Jenny was a huge fan of the director Bong Joon-ho. She discusses his early films such as The Host and Snowpiercer. She even talks about the long wait she had to endure before finally seeing Snowpiercer. Lastly, Jenny talks about how she got into film journalism as well some of her early film reviews and sites she worked on. Between all this, including thoughts on the Saw franchise, the current theater landscape with the pandemic and five films personally recommended by Jenny herself, this episode is full of film funzies!
