the man served "a long sentence, longer than what the usual murderer serves", and the stated concern here is that .... he served "such a long sentence" and the mystery is "why?" - and "what does this say about Ireland?"?????? he should not have been released, and neither should the other murderers after serving such puny sentences. my own first question is: W T H is wrong in this place, where a guy like this gets released after thirty years and the great "injustice" is that he - among all murderers - served more time than usual? my second is: twelve years average, for murder, how is this even close to justice? this is what is "obscene". what all this says to me about Ireland is that it has a messed up justice system where innocent people do not matter in comparison to murderers, even moreso the case than here.
