Drugs produced by the profit-hungry pharmaceutical industry have for far too long been priced so high that millions die every year from treatable conditions. With numerous researchers across the world racing to find effective Covid-19 vaccines and treatments, campaigners are increasing their efforts to ensure that access for all is pushed to the top of the political agenda.
In this episode, we're talking to Umunyana Rugege from Section 27 and Pedro Villardi from ABIAIDS about their fight for access to medicines in the global south and how this long standing issue is impacting their struggle to ensure fair access to Covid-19 treatments and vaccines.
