Description

The OC Riptide ended the week riding a hot streak, winning their last four games including a three-game series sweep over the Arroyo Seco Saints. The Riptide currently sit solidly in second place in the CCL South Division Standings with a record of 15-7, one game behind the Santa Barbara Foresters. (The Foresters have chosen to not participate in the CCL playoffs and the Riptide appear poised to receive the postseason berth should they continue winning.)

The remaining three weeks for the Riptide will test their mettle and their ability to withstand road trips. Following the CCL Showcase Game break, the Riptide only have four more home games compared to nine on the road. Eight of those nine road trips include trips to Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo which equates to long bus rides and overnight hotel stays in SLO.

This summer's edition of the Rip Current Podcast features content provided by 2023 OC Riptide interns Ari Wohl, Elizabeth Dunning, Gracie Pugliese and Dylan Luden.

Highlights include:

  • Ari & Elizabeth discuss the past week of Riptide baseball (1:27 )
  • Dylan speaks with Connor Spencer & Bryan Evans about Wild Rivers Pitchers of the week Jack Kirrer & Josh Randall (11:30 )
  • Dylan Speaks with Pear Tree Meats Position Player of the Week Carter Garate (21:40 )
  • Andrew takes a look around the CCL thus far (29:10 )
