Description

In conjunction with the opening of Alien, curated by Yesiyu Zhao at David Castillo Gallery (December 3, 2024 – February 8, 2025), 2024 Untitled Art Guest Curator Kathy Huang moderates a discussion with curator Yesiyu Zhao and artists Asif Hoque and Ye Quin Zhu. The conversation will examine the conceptual framework and development of the exhibition, which features over 40 artists from the Asian diaspora.
Alien investigates the multifaceted interpretations of the term "alien" and its intersections with cultural, social, and political narratives. The panel will also discuss the evolving roles of curators and artists, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in representing Asian diasporic perspectives and the growing trend of artists taking on curatorial roles.

This panel discussion was recorded at Untitled Art, MIami Beach 2024 on December 6, 2024.
