Uncle Malcolm’s mob is from the Hunter Valley. His mother is a Kamilaroi woman, and his father was Scottish. He came to Sydney in 1945, when he was 4 years old and he’s been on this land for 78 years. His ancestors are the oldest living culture on earth and have not been offered a treaty.

Uncle Malcolm would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land, the Cabrogal people of the Darug Nation, and pays his respects elders past and present and those emerging. To any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in the audience tonight - Yama Yama Yama - welcome welcome welcome.

Uncle Malcolm takes us on an adventure of his life, his time growing up in Condell Park, his views on climate change and a multitude of experiences working and supporting family and community.

He believes that everyone should get a fair go… and that learning about your roots, culture and heritage - giving you a sense of permanence and is an important part of knowing who you are and where you are going.
