With Texas and Oklahoma's departure, the conference loses two of its biggest recruiting draws. Schools like Kansas, Texas Tech, and West Virginia may struggle to pull in elite talent, especially in the face of growing competition from other conferences. Additionally, the expanded footprint of the Big 12, which now stretches from Utah to Florida, could pose logistical challenges. The travel demands placed on players and coaches might lead to fatigue, impacting performance on the field. Moreover, the lack of traditional rivalries could affect the overall excitement and fan engagement, diminishing the intensity of conference play.

If these challenges are not addressed, the Big 12’s competitiveness in football could falter, leaving the conference in a weaker position.
