La première idée du projet Plugin Check a été proposée en juillet 2022 avec pour objectif de fournir un outil permettant aux développeurs et développeuses d’extensions WordPress de vérifier la qualité et la sécurité de leurs créations.
Cette proposition est née du besoin d’établir des standards plus élevés dans l’écosystème des extensions, où la diversité et la qualité peuvent varier de manière significative. Il s’agissait d’insister sur l’importance de disposer d’un système capable d’identifier les problèmes courants et d’améliorer la fiabilité des extensions du dépôt WordPress.
Depuis lors, des progrès significatifs ont été réalisés dans le développement de Plugin Check. Avec la version actuelle, développée entre l’équipe Performance et l’équipe Plugins, plusieurs fonctionnalités ont été intégrées pour p
