John Hutchinson joins us to talks about his humble beginnings in Donegal. Leaving school at 13 to work on building sites with his family. Then he starting boxing late but going all in with it.
He tells about travelling everyday on the bus from Donegal to Belfast to train. Eventually he made the move to the pro ranks and headed down under to Australia to purse his career.
His boxing career took him around the world and while training in Thailand he unwittingly began to train MMA fighters whilst still being an active fighter himself. His first fighter won a world title which has had a snowball effect, making him one of the most sought after trainers in MMA.
Currently, John is taking a break from coaching fighters and is thinking of opening his own gym to train professional boxers. His long term goal is to train a local boxer and get them to the world championship.
