This interview gives an overview of the HAARP system (High Altitude Auroral Research Project.) In the book Angels Don’t Play This HAARP (co-authored with Jeane Manning), Dr. Begich describes the historical development and projected functioning of this weapons system. Envisioned as a “Revolution in Military Affairs,” this Alaska-based installation should serve as a sophisticated reconnaissance device, a missile detection and defense system, a weather modification device, a mechanism for disrupting enemy communications, a device for neutralizing or modifying human brain-wave functions over a narrow or broad geographical area and a device for sickening or killing human beings by using electromagnetic radiation to alter their body chemistry. These are only some of the projected applications of this technology. (Recorded in September of 1996.)
