Fr. Ronald Knox once said: “A good sermon should be like a woman's skirt: short enough to arouse interest but long enough to cover the essentials”. Is Catholic preaching terrible? Is it too long, or too short? How long should a homily be? Pope Francis has said recently that long homilies are ‘a disaster’ so preaching should be limited to 10 minutes. What do you think?
