Film Room: Cameron Miller
Description

Offensive tackle recruiting has been a significant problem for Kentucky for an extended period. Offensive line coach Eric Wolford was brought back to Lexington by Mark Stoops to fix this problem. The recruiting wins for Wolford are starting to stack up.
Hammond (Ind.) Morton Senior tackle Cameron Miller ended his recruitment on Friday. The three-star prospect picked the Cats over Indiana, Purdue, and West Virginia.

What is Kentucky adding in the massive tackle prospect from Chicagoland? Let’s take a closer look. Miller potentially fits the “Planet Theory” meaning that he is one of the few individuals on earth to combine massive size and movement skills. Can that translate on the field at the next level?
The measurables immediately standout
Cameron Miller is listed at 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds in On3’s database but the three-star recruit and No. 20 ranked player in Indiana jumps off the screen as being much larger than that. Miller’s long limbs and broad shoulders immediately standout on tape.
This is a massive tackle prospect.

On the first rep of his junior tape, Miller’s size footprint immediately stands out. This is an offensive tackle with a tremendous wingspan and skinny legs. The pass protection potential lightbulb should immediately go off in you head. That’s when we shift to how the tackle moves.
For a player his size, Miller is a smooth mover who picks up his knees on sprints and does not look like someone who labors to carry his weight. That is a very promising sign. Add that in with some flashes of play strength, both in his hands and lower half, and you have a true tackle prospects with some legitimate tools.
Miller checks the size, movement, and play strength box right away.
There is needed development but the raw tools are tantalizing
Cameron Miller definitely does seem to fit the planet theory. It will be interesting to see what his verified size is once he gets to Kentucky. His frame seems to have room to add size, but I do worry about his thin lower half, and if there will be enough strength to anchor in pass protection and move big bodies as a downhill blocker moving forward.
But the athleticism is there. The length is there. The movement skills are there.
This is a three-star offensive tackle prospect that checks plenty of boxes and has some true left tackle potential. Adding play strength in Kentucky’s strength program will be critical, but there is plenty for Wolford and the rest of the offensive staff to work with.
