Inspired by Cohen’s real-life best friend, a Dreamer from Peru, The Compatriots follows Javi (Rafael Silva), an undocumented Latino immigrant facing deportation, who reconnects with his estranged childhood friend Hunter (Denis Shepherd). Together, they embark on an emotional journey to prevent Javi’s expulsion from the only country he has ever called home.
