Fire danger moves to moderate with no fire restrictions
Update: 2025-09-10
Description
On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Red, White and Blue Fire Protection District announced Summit County’s fire danger will move to moderate and there are no longer any fire restrictions in place.
Although storms are predicted to hit the area over the next week, September and October are typically referred to as Colorado’s “second fire season.”
Due to the typically dry weather, Red, White and Blue Fire Protection is encouraging residents to remain vigilant by weed whacking tall grasses near homes and buildings and blowing any leaf litter away.
Those concerned about protecting their home against wildfires can reach out to either Red, White and Blue Fire or Summit Fire and EMS to schedule a free, no-obligation home assessment.
