First Female RFU Level 2 Coach in Guernsey
Description
Rachel Merrien has recently been licensed as a new RFU Level 2 Rugby Coach, and is the first to achieve the accolade here in the bailiwick. Her appointment comes after three weeks of hard work researching and planning rugby coaching techniques to deliver on the three intense days of practical on the rugby pitch. Her accreditation is for the 15 a side game which is the traditional game taught in the UK and is a nationally recognised qualification.
Rachel took on the course as she enjoys coaching and thrives on seeing other players develop and highlighted "if i have good coaching I want to give good coaching back to apsiring young athletes". She is hopefull that other players seeing her as their coach will help inspire more players to take up the game and hopes to serve as a as a good role model for up and coming rugby stars.
