John Vitale is a retired NYPD officer and Air Force Combat veteran. After the towers went down, John spent 14 weeks on what was dubbed the "Mound" side by side with his fellow first responders, and then in 2007, he deployed to Afghanistan. In 2012, John began his path to healing, and that's when he met the guys.
