First Sunday Zoom Hang: Cold Civil War Edition
Description
It’s the first Sunday of the month, the time when we gather over Zoom. TIME: 5pm PT / 8pm ET. Link behind paywall. Nancy can tell us about Portland, where she’s been for the past week. (If you haven’t been following Nancy on Twitter, what are you thinking?)
How is Nancy doing, by the way? Our girl just texted: “I’m at the laundry washing tear gas out of last night’s clothes.”
So, she’s got stories.

And what about me, the Sarah part of this duo? Tired/overworked. But what’s on my mind as I write this is the fracture at the center of our politics, possibly our country. In the days after the Ezra Klein/Ta-Nehisi Coates interview, I kept hearing that phrase: Cold Civil War. What does it mean? How would we know if it’s happening? Does someone have to declare these things?
Let’s talk about that. Let’s talk about whatever’s on your mind. You can always — ALWAYS — show us your pets. Here’s mine.
