The Calgary Flames recently made roster changes, sending forward Dryden Hunt to waivers and calling up Justin Kirkland from their AHL affiliate. Hunt, a versatile veteran, has been a reliable extra player for the Flames and Wranglers, with no NHL points but eighteen AHL points. Hes a thirteenth forward who can play either wing and has been called up three times this season. Hunts contract and experience make him less attractive to other teams. Kirkland, a twenty-nine-year-old forward, is expected to take over Hunts role as the thirteenth forward for the main club, having one NHL point and seven AHL points this season.
