This episode is Scene Two of The Silver King.  Stanley begins pilot school training  at Maxwell Field in Montgomery, Alabama, and finishes at the Lodwick School of Aeronautics in Lakeland, Florida, during April 1943.  Stanley wrote 23 letters to his family between April 4th and 28th, 1943.
