The stand-up comedian was the star of the NBC-TV sitcom Chico and the Man from 1974 until his suicide in 1977 at age 22. (The series continued for another season after Freddie Prinze's death.)
Editor's Note: Karl Pruetzel, Prinze's father, had not only German ancestry but also some Hungarian ancestry, although Prinze introduced himself as a "Hunga-rican" in his stand-up act.
