Free 3D Hands - A Remarkable Milestone in the History of this Pioneering Charity
Description
In this episode, Free 3D Hands Founder Mat Bowtell is joined by a 15-year-old aspiring engineer named Laila El Moselhy from New York City. This episode was recorded while Laila was visiting Mat and his team in Phillip Island for a 2-week internship. Laila shares how she began 3D printing hands from her home using Mat's open-source design and sending them to those in need around the world.
Laila's visit also coincided with a very exciting milestone in the history of Free 3D Hands when Chuck Hull, the founder of 3D printing, visited Free 3D Hands in Phillip Island with a film crew to interview Mat and Laila for an upcoming documentary. Chuck is particularly impressed with the remarkable and compassionate use of his technology by Free 3D Hands and both Mat and Laila were lucky enough to hold the very first item that Chuck 3D printed back in 1983.
